It was a foggy start to the well supported Charity event at the Humber bridge today. Among the early starters was Jack aged three and a half sat comfortably at the front of his dad Mike's bike, on his special bike seat. Jack enjoyed tucking into a snack after they had completed their ride. Well done to all riders who took part, and hopefully they have raised funds for a worthy charity.
Extra special thanks must go to Judy and her marvellous team of volunteers who made the day possible.

About 29 riders of various ability took part in a new three day challenge ride from York to Whitby returning through lovely scenic North York Moors. The weekend event started on Friday with a gathering in York and a route of 56miles from York to Helmsley and back. Saturday found the riders leaving York, heading to Whitby via the Yorkshire Wolds, Pickering and Grosmont, where the heather was in full bloom, before reaching the YHA Whitby for a well earned rest and heading on foot into town for famous Whitby fish and chips. Sunday saw the riders remount their trusty two wheeled steeds to set out on the return route via Danby, Hutton Le Hole and Kirkbymoorside which included several steep ascents back up onto the surrounding heather clad moors. Only a couple of repairs to deal with so all went very well!!! All successfully survived and enjoyed the demanding weekend, climaxing in the eventual finish at YHA York. Well Done All Riders. All thanks go to John Wilson of Simple Cycle Tours plus his able assistants Sal and Emma whose hard work made the event such a success. |
Craig BoddiceI am the company founder and a very keen cyclist who has enjoyed cycling since the first day I sat on my first bike. What I love about cycling is the freedom and chance to go places under your own steam. Plus, it keeps you fit and helps to save money on fuel too! Archives
