Photos from what was a great day in the Wolds. Photos courtesy of Wolds Events. Well the day dawned for the Heart of the Wolds sportive and despite the poor forecasts earlier in the week the actual day was still and bright, perfect for a challenge ride in the beautiful Wolds.
700 or more riders of varying abilities, some making their debut including one young man aged 12, Damien Curtis, completing The Langtoft Loop, a taxing 37 km circuit ridden with his proud Dad. Repair2Ride was well represented by Craig's Dad, brother and wife Rachel along with several other members of the Sunday Girls Road Club. All completing their chosen routes in good times. Repair2Ride was on hand to assist where needed with any unforeseen major repairs on route, and dealt with two riders both who had suffered broken spokes, some general gear adjustments and a rider who had crashed near Millington, who required help getting back on the road. On completion all riders were welcomed with a tasty hot meal and plenty of rehydration plus a "goody" bag with a buff and a well deserved sample of Great Newsome Brewery's Maillot Jaune Ale!! Perfect after a long hard ride. Well done to the organisers Phil and Adam and their dedicated team of helpers, who were friendly and helpful to all the participants. A mention to Mike on the loudspeaker who kept everyone entertained and informed as the riders returned triumphant, also Laura and daughter Millie from Rudstone Walk who helped sign people in and filled goody bags, East Coast Cycles for looking after the hot drinks and food at HQ, and Cliff Pratt Cycles who were also on hand to help riders who suffered mechanicals. I am sure most riders will be looking forward already to next year's event. The last photo is of Mark Donaldson who was first rider back on the longest ride, covering 134km.

Craig BoddiceI am the company founder and a very keen cyclist who has enjoyed cycling since the first day I sat on my first bike. What I love about cycling is the freedom and chance to go places under your own steam. Plus, it keeps you fit and helps to save money on fuel too! Archives
