Again the weather has been kind to us cyclists, baring the odd thunder and lightning storm. I've been mainly building wheels for a customer who participates in cycle speedway. He ordered two sets of wheels, which I have just finish making. See photos below. Also, in the workshop is an electric bike requiring a new rear wheel to be built around the existing hub. This is challenging due to the weight of the hub and the length of spokes involved. It will be built onto a Downhill specific rim which is nice and wide to spread the load with DT Swiss spokes and nipples, this should lead to a very strong and robust wheel. Also, this week I have upgraded a childrens bike which had useless cable operated disc brakes to a hydraulic disc brake at the front and a shimano cable disc brake at the rear. This has drastically improved the safety and perforamance of the bike and has meant the customer didn't need to buy a new bike. I've been called out to fit several new innertubes for customers, must be the farmers trimming their hedges, and fixed up three Bmx's with various problems for a customer in Kirkella. Also, in the pipeline is another Pace frame with a crack in the headtube, which I'm arranging to be fixed for customer next week.

Craig BoddiceI am the company founder and a very keen cyclist who has enjoyed cycling since the first day I sat on my first bike. What I love about cycling is the freedom and chance to go places under your own steam. Plus, it keeps you fit and helps to save money on fuel too! Archives
